We wanted to take a minute to welcome you to our blog and share with you more of what we have to offer, why we do what we do, and what you can expect from us. (It’s books – if you hadn’t already guessed)
We are an independent publishing house based in Bristol, with a love of heritage works, literary classics, and forgotten books. We lovingly republish these titles, keeping the voices and stories of days gone by alive and kicking in the 21st century.

Read & Co. started life in the 1970s as a small family-run Antiquarian Booksellers, A.F. Read & Sons. Based on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, this small and successful business specialising in natural history and ornithology grew into the book publishers that we now know and love.
What we do
Today, based in the wonderful city of Bristol, our publishing house specialises in the restoration and revival of beautiful out-of-print treasures, and forgotten voices.
With an eclectic list spanning a multitude of subjects, we’re passionate about giving readers books that spark imagination, inspire wisdom, and encourage thought and conversation.
This blog is intended to share all the good bookish stuff.
You’ll find features on our new releases, recommended book lists, anniversaries and celebrations, some guest blogger content, and much more.
